From the recording The Banquet
Lyrics
Said the King unto his servant on that day
My feast is almost ready
Bring the guests without delay
But the ones who were invited
Didn’t come they weren’t excited
For the cares of life had drawn their hearts away
The king was angry that they would deny his grace
When suddenly a smile began to form upon his face
Bring the lame, bring the poor
Bring them right inside my door
I want my banquet to be tasted
Not a single morsel wasted
Go out again, bring them in
‘Til every place is filled within
Bring me the ones who are not worthy
So they can know my mercy
So the call went out to every crippled soul
Come join me at my table
Eat my food, and be made whole
Your mistakes may be impressive
But my grace is more excessive
Leave this place and come into my banquet hall
The invitation comes at no expense to you
But once you are inside, I have some work for you to do
Who am I, that you would let me in
Truly your mercy has no end
I hear you say again
